The Anime.org.au forums have been re-created, following the disruptions encountered late last week.

We have taken this opportunity to update the underlying database structure, and phpBB software that we are running on.

Please note that user accounts will need to be re-created, and the post archive will not be rolled-in to the new forums for a few weeks yet.

Due to recent abuse, the Anime.org.au forums have been temporarily disabled.

We hope to have the matter resolved shortly; in the meantime, we thank you for your patience and any assistance or information you may offer in this matter.

The Anime.org.au forums recieved a large number of posts overnight pertaining to be from a popular `alternative culture' image board; many, possibly all, of a graphic nature, involving extreme violence and illicit sexual acts.

We are cooperating fully with a police investigation into the matter.

In the interim, access to the boards has been restricted, the database and forum directory have been backed up to preserve evidence; and we are beginning to assess and clean the forums at our own pace.
