The TUU Anime Society is not planning to host the Anime Island Convention in 2008; as the committee for planning it has voted to split from the Society.

The website for the convention can still be found at AICon.org.au.

Welcome to anime.org.au, home of the Utas Anime Society!

Welcome to Anime.org.au

Based in Hobart, Tasmania - the TUU Anime Society has a wide range of student and non-student members, that share an interest in Japanese-style animation, commonly known as "Anime".

The society exists to promote awareness and appreciation of Anime, Manga, and popular Japanese and Electronic culture in Australia. To further this aim, we hold regular screenings of current releases and past favourites, along with social events such as LAN parties, marathon screenings and trips to the local sushi train ^_^

The forums are main gathering place of many of our members - sign-up is free, and we welcome new personalities. This is where you'll find most of the news and announcements made by the society executive, but more importantly discussion of dozens of topics of anime and general interest.

As a student society, we charge for TUU members (UTas students), or for an associate membership (all the same privileges, but we get billed by the union for each non-union member).

Society membership entitles you to free entry to our regular screenings, and an invitation to other events such as LAN parties and the like.

This site will be undergoing some major changes throughout 2006, and we beg your patience with any temporary inconveniences that may pop up occasionally.
